High-Temperature Applications

Back To Blog

High-temperature applications require high-performance wheels. At RWM Casters, our casters are custom-built to handle the rigors inherent to smokehouses, autoclaves, curing ovens, powder coating ovens, and more! We have high-temperature caster product lines customized for bakeries and food production facilities, healthcare facilities, aerospace manufacturing, and a wide range of other industries that depend on high-temperature wheels.

Greasing the Wheels

The right grease goes a long way towards keeping things moving when it comes to high-temperature applications. At RWM, we can add high-temperature grease that helps ensure the caster still functions when it is put to the fire. Coupled with specialized bearings, the result is a reliable wheel system that your company can depend on day in and day out.

High-Capacity for High-Heat Applications

We recommend using high-capacity cast iron or forged wheels in applications where you will need to haul loads of anywhere from 1,200 to 1,400 lbs. or for any application where temperatures are expected to exceed 475 degrees. This helps ensure the wheel will deliver your required performance and won’t leave your carts stranded in the oven or sitting idle in the smokehouse.

Hot, But Not That Hot

If your applications don’t exceed 475 degrees, you will find plenty of performance within our high-temperature nylon wheels or high-temperature phenolic wheels. These wheels are a perfect balance of high-temperature performance, floor protection, grip, maneuverability, and durability.

Sizing Things Up

We offer a full range of caster sizes for our clients. We have casters built to haul several hundred pounds, and we have casters capable of carrying over 7 tons of material. So, whether you are moving fresh bread, auto parts, aircraft components, or smoked meat, we can customize the wheel for optimal performance in your business.

At RWM, customization is the foundation of our success because it allows us to deliver wheels specifically built for our clients’ temperatures and operational environments. We encourage you to contact us at 800-634-7704 for more information about our high-temperature casters. It is our pleasure to help you design a finished caster that will deliver reliable performance year after year.
