RWM’s 53 Series casters feature thicker legs and a 3/4” diameter axle that improves on our very popular 52 Series. This caster is designed to stand up to most heavy-duty industrial caster applications and is proudly Made in the U.S.A. Features of the 53 Series Caster
The 53 Series caster is available in 5”, 8”, and 10” diameters with a 2-1/2” wheel width. This gives the finished caster an overall height of 7-1/8” to 12-1/16”. Depending on the wheel diameter and wheel composition, each wheel has a capacity of between 540 lbs. and 1800 lbs. This gives you considerable flexibility to design a caster ideally suited for your needs and operations.
The 53 Series Caster can be paired with the following wheel types:

As with any caster, customization is key, and at RWM, we make it easy to add additional features to improve the wheel’s performance. For example, the 53 Series caster can be customized to include cam wheel brakes, swivel locks, high or low-temperature lubrication, sealed swivel raceways, and wheel seals.
Features
| Swivel Section | Cold-formed top plate, yoke, and button are all heat treated to prevent brinelling, improve swivel action and increase service life. Both load and thrust bearings are hardened, and ground and raceway bearings rotate on hardened raceways. The top plate and legs are 1/4” steel. Legs are formed for increased strength and continuously welded to yoke. All swivel sections are equipped with a lubrication fitting for field maintenance. RWM lubricates all swivel sections before shipment. |

| Wheels | Wheels are available with 1” I.D. diameter straight roller bearings, which rotate on a 1” O.D. hardened and ground spanner bushing, or 3/4” I.D. tapered bearing on a 3/4” axle. The tapered bearing configuration is highly recommended for high-speed and side thrust applications. |
