Stainless Steel Caster FAQs

How is stainless steel different from zinc-plated casters?

Zinc-plated casters are corrosion-resistant, not corrosion-proof. They are vulnerable to corrosion when exposed to moisture and chemicals, especially when the coating suffers damage. Conversely, stainless steel requires significantly longer and more sustained exposure to moisture, chemicals, etc., before it will corrode. This timeline can take years and even decades.

Are there different grades of stainless steel?
